MP for Wolverhampton North-East delivers speech on Brexit at recent Bromsgrove Labour Group meeting

THE MP for Wolverhampton North-East was the guest speaker at the latest meeting of the Bromsgrove Labour Group.

Emma Reynolds mainly focused her speech on Brexit but also talked about the Windrush generation debacle which she was critical of the Government of.

Whilst happily admitting she was a remainer, Emma acknowledged a majority of the electorate voted to leave the EU.

She said, as a member of the House of Commons Select Committee on Exiting the EU, she saw her role as one to ensure the nation achieved the best deal possible and that leaving the EU will not leave the British people or the UK worse off.

Most of her speech centred on the impact and practicalities of Brexit rather than the politics citing it had been one of the most divisive issues ever to happen in British politics dividing communities, political parties, friends and even families.

She said there was no easy fix and the Customs Union, Single Market and the Irish border still had to be sorted out.

There was also a question and answer session with Emma after her speech.
