Man whose building work was hit by the recession realises dream of opening Rednal barber shop

A SOUTH Birmingham man who found himself with a lack of work when the recession hit the building trade has realised his dream of opening a new barbershop in Rednal.

Mickey Saeed had a passion for cutting hair and enquired about a course at Bournville College which he started in 2014.

There he met Andy Yates, who was studying the same course and similarly wanted to follow his interests in improving men’s appearances.

Over the years they worked together supporting each other’s vision and tomorrow (Saturday) will open their Backroom Barber Club on Edgewood Road, Rednal.

The shop will be open from 11am tomorrow and they are hoping residents will go along, meet the team and the bespoke service they offer.

The event is appointment only – to book, email [email protected] or call 07708 317549.

Andrew said: “To be able to see our vision come to life with a different kind of barbers including male grooming is a great achievement for both of us.

“We really look forward to welcoming gents for them to enjoy this bespoke male grooming experience.

“It is a true retreat for men,” he added.
