M5 closed between Droitwich and Bromsgrove amidst fears for the safety of a man on the motorway bridge

THE M5 motorway was closed between Junctions 5 (Droitwich) and 4a (Bromsgrove) this morning because of concerns for the safety of a man on the bridge.

Diversions were put in place while the emergency services and traffic officers from Highways England worked together to bring the incident to a safe conclusion.

That happened three hours ago and traffic officers are now in the process of reopening the carriageways and getting the traffic flowing back to normal.

West Mercia Police thanked motorists for their patience during the incident.
