A FIVE-YEAR-OLD boy from Longbridge is planning to climb Mount Snowdon to raise funds for the hospital where he is receiving treatment.

Jacob Hollis is hoping to collect £300 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital by taking on the challenge on August 2.

The youngster is is currently undergoing physiotherapy after he was found to have weak core muscles, causing him pain and clumsiness when he walks.

He will also have an MRI scan to see if it is something else.

Mum, Karen said: “I am so proud of him for wanting to do this challenge.

“Jacob has always had a problem with walking, he toe walks and has to wear orthotics shoes.

“We are quite an active family and we have been practising up the Malverns and Lickey Hills.

“As a thank you to the hospital we hope to raise as much as we can.”

Karen said they would camp at the top of Snowdon and will write a story about the journey for Jacob’s classmates.
