A PRESENTATION on ‘Surnames – Their History and meanings’ will be given by Richard Churchley at Bromsgrove Methodist Centre, Stratford Road, at 7.45pm on Tuesday (January 10).
It will take place at the next meeting of the Bromsgrove branch of The Birmingham and Midland Society for Genealogy and Heraldry and will provide a brief history on how the use of surnames came about, along with a general look at the main categories of English surnames.
There will also be a commentary on specific names of members at the meeting.
