A LEANING lamp post in Cofton Hackett which ‘could collapse at any minute’ is a danger to residents, says a Rubery councillor.

Councillor Peter McDonald has slammed the post, which is at the junction of Ashmead Drive and Ashmead Rise, calling for it to be moved.

He said: “It is leaning dangerously and has been like this for some time, someone is going to be injured or even killed.

“I reported it to the local authorities and still nothing has been done.

“This is not a third world country and there can be no excuses for putting people at risk, as this lamp post clearly does.

“I would like it removed as soon as possible.”

Jon Fraser, Highways Manager, said: “We are aware of concerns regarding this lamp post and are addressing the situation.”
