STAFF and students at Dodford First School are celebrating after the school was given an overall ‘good’ grading from Ofsted, just two years after inspectors deemed it ‘required improvement’.
In 2014 Ofsted said both the quality of teaching at Dodford First and the achievement of its pupils ‘required improvement’.
But, following this latest inspection, carried out before Christmas in the last week of term, inspectors awarded the school ‘good’ in all areas and ‘outstanding’ in the areas of ‘children’s personal development’, ‘behaviour’ and ‘welfare’.
The inspector highlighted how the nurturing and caring school environment allowed all pupils to shine and be confident and enthusiastic learners.
Dodford First School headteacher Lisa Parkes said she was very proud of the staff and the children who rose to the challenge of being inspected.
“The outcome is testament to all the hard work put in by the staff over the past two years and sets us on a positive course for our continuing journey,” she added.
