THE PRIMROSE Hospice has received a £500 boost from Frankley Guitar Club which held a fund-raising concert in aid of the charity and in memory of a former member.

Steve Carter, who was from Stoke Heath, passed away at the age of 62 in February 2015 after battling advanced bowel cancer.

Towards the end of his life he was received exceptional care from Primrose Hospice.

The concert took place at the Hawthorns Social Club in Rubery and was attended by around 75 people.

Steve was a big fan of James Taylor and often played and sang the ‘You’ve Got a Friend’ singer’s music.

Primrose Hospice fund-raiser Anne Snell said: “We are so grateful for the funds raised by Frankley guitar club.

“Without the support of the local community and fundraising events such as these, Primrose would not be able to offer its services to families when it is needed most.”
