Discussions between council and housing trust to determine who owns parcels of land

COUNCIL bosses are set to hold showdown talks over parcels of land across Bromsgrove district which nobody is willing to claim responsibility for.

Bromsgrove District Council’s controlling Conservative group has agreed to meet with representatives of Worcestershire County Council and Bromsgrove District Housing Trust to put an end to any disputes.

Coun Harrison Rone-Clarke (Lab, Rock Hill), who called for the talks, said:

“Because of the confusion over certain land, casework often stagnates and residents end up being left without answers.

“If we all come together and work out who owns the land then local issues such as overgrown trees and untended shrubbery can be dealt with.

“I think it’s also important to come up with an action plan to make sure these kinds of disputes don’t happen again in the future.”

Council leader Karen May said: “I think it’s a great idea and I thank Coun Harrison Rone-Clarke for bringing it to us.”
