THEATRE lovers are in for a treat this summer when a selection of outdoor performances roll into Worcestershire.
Residents across the county are encouraged to prepare their picnics and blankets to sit back and enjoy live outdoor theatre performances as the sun sets in the coming summer months.
Award-winning Illyria Theatre will return for four entertaining shows at Hanbury Hall. A fun, family adaptation of The Adventures of Doctor Dolittle will be showcased on July 27.
A gripping performance of Romeo and Juliet will be live on August 10. Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Gondoliers will wow crowds on August 17 and The Hound of te Baskervilles will provide an evening of mystery on September 7.
Every Hanbury Hall show is on a Saturday.
Visitors will also be able to experience a wide range of performances in the pretty walled garden at Greyfriars, in the heart of Worcester city centre.
Treasure Island and Oscar Wilde classic An Ideal Husband will be performed by DOT Productions on July 25 and 26. Wilde about Oscar will be performed by Don’t Go Into The Cellar Theatre Company on Friday, August 2.
And Tethered Wits Theatre Company will perform P.G. Wodehouse’s Stiff Upper Lip, Jeeves on Thursday, August 8 and The Importance of Being Earnest on Friday, August 16.
Visitors can bring their own refreshments or purchase items from the Stables Cafe at Hanbury Hall, and the Old Oak Cafe at Greyfriars.
