County chiefs thank staff for working over Christmas and New Year

Bromsgrove Editorial 31st Dec, 2020   0

COUNTY chiefs have thanked staff who have worked over the Christmas and New Year period.

Whilst many people have had time off from work, some key workers have continued their shifts.

This includes staff who work in adults’ and children’s social care, highways and some back-office workers.

Chief executive at Worcestershire County Council, Paul Robinson, said: “This year has been extremely challenging for each and every one of us.

“I’m immensely proud of what we have delivered for the residents in the past 12 months.

“I want to say a huge thank you for everything our staff do.

“I’m sure they know this already but they will be making a huge difference to the lives of others who need us the most.”

In Worcestershire, hundreds of social workers and social care staff will continue to make calls and ensure those who are vulnerable continue to get the care and support they need.

Social work teams, plus safeguarding, mental health, young adults and learning disability urgent care, not to mention the back-office staff will all be available to offer urgent help and assistance to those who need it over the Christmas period.
