A FORMAL ball set up to help Bromsgrove’s Katy Dawson get to Germany for life saving cancer treatment has helped pay for her next trip.
The ball on Saturday (October 14) raised £3,700 which has gone a huge way to pay for the £10,000 to £20,000 visit abroad which the mum of two is advised to take every couple of months in order help fight her rare form of breast cancer.
Katy took to social media to thank all the generous donors who attended the fund-raiser and enjoyed the three course meal, raflle and auction.
She said: “It looks like I’ll be going to Germany again for some more treatment which is just amazing.
“I’m so grateful for everyone’s efforts. I keep saying I can’t do it without your support and I really can’t.
“I’ve had a brilliant, if tiring, weekend.
“I have the hell which is chemo tomorrow so I have really tried to make the most of it.
“As my treatment in Germany is ongoing for the foreseeable future I have to continually think ahead to how we will raise the money for the next time, and the next time – the alternative is too unbearable to contemplate.
“Your support means the world.”
