Businesses can find out more about leaving a digital legacy at Primrose Hospice event

A NETWORKING event detailing how businesses can leave a digital legacy to the Primrose Hospice will be held at Bromsgrove’s Basepoint Business Centre on Friday, May 17.

Matt Lloyd, from the marketing planning and design services Lloyd and Co, will present Leaving Your Digital Legacy as part of Pounds for Primrose Week.

People can consider what kind of digital legacy they will leave behind and what it says about them and their business.

A survey revealed last year that 26 per cent of people would like the content of their social media accounts to be passed onto their loved ones when they die.

Matt said: “Business owners work so hard to build their reputation, have their own style, their own voice and way of working which customers get used to.

“This is all part of the brand experience. People buy from people.”

He added because so much time and effort was put into building a brand it makes sense for people to think about what happens to their social media accounts when they pass away.

Amy Flemming, the Primrose Hospice’s corporate fund-raiser, said: “Leaving Your Digital Legacy will be an interesting session for anyone who uses social media for their business.

“We all create online personas and leave behind a digital footprint.

“Matt’s workshop will give businesses an insight into how to create a digital legacy to be proud of.

“Matt’s networking event is the perfect way for businesses to get involved and we hope that many of Worcestershire’s thriving business community will sign up.”

Pounds for Primrose week starts on Monday, May 13, when people are urged to hold fund-raising events for the hospice at their schools or workplaces or simply donate £1 to the charity.

Tickets are a minimum donation of £15.
