BROMSGROVE’s Clent Hills Vets has started work on a new memorial pathway and garden to provide comfort for bereaved pet owners, writes Charlotte Ingleby.
The project began in June and work should be completed by the end of this month.
There will be a small garden where people can sit for a quiet reflection and a memorial pathway lined with bricks which pets’ names can be etched into.
It is very close to the practice’s bereavement room where people can feel closer to pets who have passed away.
Amy Holloway, marketing manager, said “We know how devastating losing a pet can be so we wanted to create a space to sit peacefully and remember pets.”
The practice has received many positive comments, including some relating to ‘crossing the rainbow bridge’, the theme used to describe the special place where pets go when they pass away.
That has prompted the vets contacting local schools to see if, as an extracurricular project, students want to create a rainbow sculpture for the garden.
