Bromsgrove Station set to become 'major stopping point' for steam and traditional train excursions, including one tomorrow

BROMSGROVE Station is set to become a major stopping point for excursions operated by organisers of traditional rail travel.

Following a positive response from people who want to travel on locomotive hauled trains, Pathfinder Tours has confirmed that some of its excursions will now be stopping at the town’s new station.

Tomorrow (Saturday) Pathfinder’s ‘York Moors Explorer’ excursion call at Bromsgrove when it heads to York, Scarborough and the North Yorkshire Moors railway.

More than 60 passengers have booked to board the train at Bromsgrove already.




Peter Watts from Pathfinder’s said “There has been a very positive response for tomorrow’s excursion, and it gives us great confidence to offer future trips from Bromsgrove.”

Other confirmed excursions from Bromsgrove include to the scenic heart of Wales line on June 17 and to Paignton and Kingswear on July 8.


Mr Watts added: “I believe Bromsgrove will now become a major stopping point for Pathfinder Tours and we look forward to welcoming people that want to travel on traditional locomotive hauled trains.”

Tomorrow’s excursion is booked to depart at 7.55am from Bromsgrove, returning at 9.50pm, and is set to be hauled by a class 68 diesel locomotive. Visit www.pathfindertours.co.uk for more information.
