A BROMSGROVE mum who has just got engaged is about to take the plunge for a second time in as many months when she jumps 10,000ft from a plane in memory of her godmother.
Shelley Stacey, 24, will experience the adventure of a lifetime when she makes a tandem jump from the plane on Saturday (November 12) to raise £500 for the Primrose Hospice.
The daring young mum, who has already raised £200 of her £500 target, told the Standard: “A couple of years ago I lost my godmother Pauline Collie to breast cancer. I always wanted to do something in her memory but fell pregnant with my son Harry.
“He’s seven months old now, so I guess it’s a good time to do it.
“The Primrose Hospice has been a massive help to us all during the bereavement process, especially for my godfather Jim, and a lot of other people I know who go there for regular coffee mornings.”

Charity

Shelley said Jim, who was married to Pauline for 40 years, also does charity work for projects like Men in Sheds.
She said Pauline’s best friend, Carol Wild, was currently going through the stages of breast cancer herself and raised money for Primrose when she held a charity ball at the Hilton Hotel this summer.
Shelley, who is also mother to four-year old Holly, said she got engaged to partner Neil Ledbrook, 26, three weeks ago and will get married on their eighth anniversary in April 2018.
She said: “I’ve never done anything like this before so I’m really excited but terrified at the same time.
“It’s always been one of my dreams to do something wild for charity – so I guess it’s a good job I’m not scared of heights.”
