THE LABOUR candidate to stand in Bromsgrove at the general election is still yet to be chosen.
Vacancies for the constituency and others will be advertised from today (Friday) and the deadline for applications is Sunday (April 23).
In a letter to party members, Labour revealed candidates would be selected directly by panels made up of members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) and regional board members to ensure those chosen were in place by May 11 – the nomination deadline.
It added because of the timescale it would be impossible to hold trigger ballots, selection hustings and meetings in the 631 constituencies.
