Bromsgrove firm donates £1,000 to help Wythall Animal sanctuary

WYTHALL Animal Sanctuary has had a cash boost from a law firm to help with its fund-raising efforts.

The Standard reported in May this year the sanctuary could face closure if trustees were unable to raise the funds needed to keep the doors open.

Wythall Animal Sanctuary was founded by Dave and Kath Davies in the early 1960s.

The couple moved to the current site in 1963 and has been running as a registered charity for more than 50 years.

Due to the rising costs of vet bills, running costs and the high demand for animals needing help, the charity has run out of funds.

MFG Solicitors donated £1,000 to the sanctuary, as it is the firm’s Bromsgrove’s office appointed charity.

Sharon Lerry, senior associate and head of mfg’s CSR Committee, said: “The team at Wythall Animal Sanctuary are renowned for their amazing work, having looked after thousands of animals over the past 50 years.

“It is also somewhere many of our team have visited over the years so it came out as a clear winner in the vote, with many of our staff saying they felt animal charities are often forgotten.

“We know the money will be put to great use and help the team meet rising costs so they can continue with the wonderful work they do with the animals.”

Danni Howard, fundraising manager at Wythall Animal Sanctuary added: “We are forever grateful to Sharon and the caring team at mfg Solicitors for their donation which is going to help so much, especially at a time when all charities are under such financial pressure.”
