YOUNGSTERS from Bromsgrove have spread the message of ‘love thy neighbour’ by presenting homemade gifts to care home residents.

The 40 members of the second Bromsgrove Boys’ Brigade Company spent two weeks creating cards and presents to give to residents of Housman Court, as well as donating non-perishable food to The Basement Project.

Running throughout February, the ‘Love Your Neighbour’ campaign 2017 was aimed at bringing together members of the town’s Boys’ Brigade group and their local community as part of a project to show how community matters.

Phil Morley, a leader from the group which meets on Wednesday evenings at the Methodist Church in the town, said: “All the boys have really enjoyed the art and craft work they’ve undertaken as part of their badge work and learnt more about being part of our local community too.

“We approached Houseman Court and The Basement Project about linking with them for our campaign and they were really excited and more than happy to join it.”

Anyone wanting to get involved by joining their local group or by submitting an idea for the group to get involved with a community project should email [email protected] – addresing the message to Phil or Paul.
