ATHLETES in Bromsgrove are being given the chance to enhance their careers with mentoring from Olympians.
Everyone Active’s Sporting Champions scheme is relaunching this month, offering access to state-of-the-art training facilities, alongside mentoring from Olympians and Paralympians.
Since its start in 2016, the scheme has provided over 5,000 athletes with access to over 230 leisure centres nationwide, including Bromsgrove Sport and leisure centre.
Colin Jackson, Olympic silver medalist and former world record holder for 110m hurdles is joining as the schemes ambassador.
He said: “I’m passionate about nurturing young talent and the Sporting Champions scheme goes above and beyond in this mission.
“With the Olympics and Paralympics taking place in Paris this summer, the programme takes on even greater significance in 2024.
“Seeing these future champions flourish fuels my excitement for what’s to come.”
Colin will be working with elite athletes in group mentoring throughout the year.
During the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, more than 30 sporting champions participated, earning a total of five gold, two silver, and three bronze medals.

“The Sporting Champions scheme has supported thousands of athletes over the years and we are proud to be continuing this again in 2024.

Applications open on Monday, February 12, 2024 and run until Monday, March 11, 2024 via the Everyone Active Sporting.
