ARTISTS from across Bromsgrove and Droitwich will be among those opening the doors of their studios as part of a much-loved annual county-wide event.

Worcestershire Open Studios – from next Saturday, August 20, to August 29 – will see artists and makers welcome visitors into their homes or studios to give them a behind the scenes insight into how they create their work.

All studios are free to visit and there will be a diverse range of artwork to see – painting, printmaking, jewellery, textiles, stained glass, woodwork, furniture making and lots more.

Across the county, 108 artists are taking part across 91 venues, including numerous artists from Bromsgrove and Droitwich.

Bromsgrove painters Michelle Doidge and Gillian Simpson, artist Eric Watson, mixed media artist Claire Nisbet and Lappelli Craft Studio with fused glass artwork are all in the line-up.

They will be joined by Eva Walters showing her cross stitch, jewellery and photography, and Hagley painter Suzanne Nicholl.

In Droitwich there will be Rowena Davis a watercolour artist, Vicky Kitchen glass artist, John Horton painter and Julian Bull the art of printing trees.

Printed guides are available from the Bromsgrove Library and local businesses or can be downloaded from worcestershireopenstudios.org.uk – detailing the artists, their location, art form and theme.
