A BRAVE six-year-old from Bromsgrove has raised more than £800 after having her long locks chopped for charity.

Esme Morgan had up to 14 inches of hair cut off which will be donated to the Little Princess Fund, smashing her original target of £500 in the process.

The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs free of charge to children and young adults up to the age of 24, who have lost their own hair due to cancer treatment and other illnesses.

A pupil at Millfields First School, Esme wanted to help others in need.

Mum Jen Morgan, said: “She is such a thoughtful child and is really keen to help.

“It is just fantastic how much she has raised so far.

“We set the target at £500 and couldn’t believe it when she surpassed that, with the gift-aid she has raised more than £1,000.

“We did some research and found out it costs £350 to make a wig, so that will be able to fund at least three wigs.

“She has been amazing.”
