WITH THE festive season over, residents from across Bromsgrove and beyond can beat the January blues by taking up a new hobby at Artrix.
From Monday (January 10), there will be a wide range of courses and workshops for all ages where people can meet new people and make new friends.
A brand new Pilates Mat Work for adults class starts on Wednesday (January 11). The new class, suitable for beginners, is ideal for anyone wishing to build their core strength and stability.
For parents or carers with young children, there’s Big People Little People Moving Together – a new workshop for grown-ups and their little ones which include a variety of movement, dance and creative play.
For younger babies and toddlers the Sensory Play Sessions for Babies and Toddlers – suitable for ages eight weeks to 24 months – start again on Friday (January 6).
Future stage stars aged six to nine can take a bow at the Artrix Youth Theatre on Tuesday evenings. And there is a senior section of the Youth Theatre with sessions on Saturday afternoons for would-be actors aged between ten and 16.
For young singers aged five to nine, there is the Little Songstars Showchoir and the Songstars Junior Showchoir caters for those aged between ten and 16.
And for adults aged 16+ there is a Songstars Adult Showchoir which is a lively and friendly choir which always welcomes new members.
All choir sessions run on Thursday evenings with a chance to learn great songs and take part in fun performances.
The Adult Ballet Beginners Class is an excellent introduction to ballet for those who have never tried it before and the intermediate class includes some pointe work, floor exercises and barre work. The Belly Dancing class is for all levels and although it is low impact – it helps build core strength and increases flexibility.
