Renowned Kodaly Quartet to perform in Bromsgrove tonight

Bromsgrove Editorial 1st Dec, 2017   0

THE RENOWNED Kodaly Quartet will take to the stage at 8pm tonight at Bromsgrove’s Artrix.

The four, Attila Falvay (violin), Ferenc Bango (violin), Janos Fejevari (viola) and Gyorgy Eder (cello,) are the latest visitors for the Bromsgrove Concerts season.

Among the pieces being performed will be the Dohnanyi String Quartet No 2 in D Flat Op 15, the Kodaly String Quartet No 2 Op 10 and the Schumann String Quartet in A Minor Op 41 No 1.

Janet Upward, the chair of the Bromsgrove Concerts committee, said: “We aim to provide programmes that are easily enjoyable while offering a varied and imaginative repertoire, and to regularly introduce audiences to unfamiliar contemporary pieces.

She said the feedback the organisation received suggested hearing contemporary pieces alongside more traditional works enhanced the listening experience.

Tickets are £20 with £5 concessions for the registered disabled, unemployed and students are available by calling 01527 577330, online at www.artrix.co.uk or on the door.

Carers and young people aged between eight to 25 go free. Under 16s must be accompanied. These tickets are available on the night of the concert.
