RENOWNED blues artist Erja Lyytinen is heading to Bromsgrove’s Artrix on March 30.

Erja, who was voted number one International Solo Artist in a Blues Matters Writer’s Poll in 2015 and Best Guitarist in the 2017 European Blues Awards, will take to the stage at the School Drive venue at 8pm.

Since first entering a recording studio some 15 years ago, the singer and guitarist has become a bona fide star in her homeland and a fixture on the international music scene.

In that time, ‘the Finnish slide goddess’ (The Blues Magazine) has recorded in places as diverse as Helsinki, London and Memphis, earning numerous accolades along the way.

Rooted in both traditional and modern blues, she successfully blends styles like jazz, pop, soul and rock into a sound all her own.

For her latest studio album, Stolen Hearts, Lyytinen convened a talented group of musicians in Helsinki in the summer of 2016, then ventured to London’s State of the Ark Studios to record with multi-platinum selling engineer and producer Chris Kimsey.

Erja will be supported by Bluesman Mike Francis who is originally from Worcestershire and will be performing his new era blues before Erja takes to the stage.

Tickets are £15 in advance at artrix.co.uk or by calling 01527 577330 or £16 on the door.
