A THEATRE production exploring the unseen injuries of war and its impact on the lives of soldiers is coming to Artrix at 7.30pm on Saturday, April 27.
Vamos Theatre Company’s ‘A Brave Face’ will cover the topic of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
The UK’s leading full mask theatre company, based in Worcester, created the production from two years of research with ex and serving soldiers, families and health professionals.
It follows Ryan, a soldier in Afghanistan in 2009 who, during one particular tour of duty, witnesses things he cannot talk about and how he deals with these issues when he returns home.
Praised by press and public alike for its consummate full mask skills, engaging storytelling, physical dexterity and emotional insight, Vamos continues to involve and engage audiences across borders and boundaries, taking on challenging themes with poignancy, humour and humanity.
For audience members who may find PTSD potentially upsetting or triggering, there is further information available to download from the Vamos website, or from Artrix.
The Trigger and Safety Sheet pre-warns audience members about show content and themes, helping to minimise potential triggers for those living with Post Traumatic Stress.
A Brave Face is suitable for audiences aged 12 years and upwards, and is accessible to hearing and deaf audiences alike.
