DISTINGUISHED Austrian cellist Florian Kitt will be performing at Bromsgrove’s Artrix at 8pm next Friday, October 20.
The show is part of Bromsgrove Concerts’ winter series of chamber music and on the evening he will be joined by pianist Carolos Rivera-Aguilar.
Together the pair will play a wide ranging programme which will open with Beethoven’s fiery and energetic first cello sonata and close with Prokofiev’s cello sonata where the cello’s warm tone sings out with romantic melodies.
Florian Kitt is dedicated to performing contemporary music and his programme includes a piece by Austrian Friedrich Cerha and ‘Orion’ a piece of contemplative stillness specially composed for him by the Japanese composer Takemitsu.
Britten’s Cello Sonata Op 65 will also feature in the programme.
Tickets, which are £20 for single tickets (£5 concessions – registered disabled, unemployed or full time student over 25, are available on the door or in advance at www.artrix.co.uk or by calling 01527 577330.
