ONE OF the UK’s most celebrated songsmiths Steve Tilston will perform at Bromsgrove Folk Club at 8pm on Thursday, September 13.

The event will be held at Catshill Club, Meadow Road.

Steve is widely recognised within the world of folk and contemporary music for the words, arrangements and subtle, superb guitar playing.

His newly released album Distant Days is a solo acoustic retrospective which sees him rework some of his most treasured self-penned songs, offering a unique insight into his musical journey since the early 1970s

He wrote classic songs, including The Slipjigs and Reels, Here’s to Tom Paine, The Naked Highwayman and the award-winning The Reckoning and is also a published author.

Steve’s first novel All for Poor Jack is an historical tale set in Bristol and the New World, full of colourful characters and has been read by Bob Dylan.

Admission to the gig is £8 for members (£4 for under 25s) and non-members, who are always welcome, pay £10.

Visit www.bromsgrovefolkclub.co.uk or call Bob on 0121 476 5938 for more information.
