CELEBRATED guitarist Craig Ogden returns to the town next Friday, January 19, for Bromsgrove Concerts’ first event of the year.
It will start at Artrix at 8pm.
Craig has a big following thanks to his appearances on Classic FM and he says he is excited to be playing such a diverse and substantial programme at Bromsgrove Concerts in January.
His easy platform manner draws the audience into his playing and the special programme he has devised for this concert reflects his own love of the composers he has chosen.
Among his selections are his favourite Bach Lute Suites as well as music by Weiss and Albeniz.
He is also giving the northern hemisphere premiere of ‘Mosstrooper Peak’ by the Australian composer
Nigel Westlake who wrote the film scores for ‘Babe’ and ‘Miss Potter’.
His programme ends with one of the great 20th century Spanish guitar works, the ‘Sonata’ by Antonio José, a composer of immense promise who was tragically killed in the Spanish Civil War at the age of 34.

Carers and young people under 25 admitted free to all concerts (under 16s must be accompanied).
