THE FIRST ever festive jumper to have been knitted entirely from chocolate has been made by Cadbury.

And residents heading to Cadbury World this Yuletide can see the pullover which has been created by food artist Jacqui Kelly.

The Cadvent chocolate jumper took three people over 80 hours to make and used over 320 metres of chocolate ‘wool’, which was hand rolled and twisted together to create a stunning knitted effect.

Featuring the iconic ‘Cadbury’ gold logo this delectable work of art incorporates a winter wonderland scene on the back, adorned with some of Cadbury’s finest Christmas treats, including the Cadbury Dairy Milk Mousse Snowman and Cadbury Dairy Milk Snow Bites.

The Cadbury knitted chocolate jumper will be on view at Cadbury World throughout December.

A less novel but perhaps more wearable version of this joyfully designed jumper has also been made into a limited edition line of Cadbury Christmas jumpers in the brand’s trademark purple colour. These more traditional woolly items will be sold via www.cadvent.co.uk and will retail for £15.

The novelty festive pullover in fetching Cadbury purple joins the existing Cadbury Cadvent Knitwear Collection, which launched earlier this month.

Serious chocolate lovers can now go head to toe in Cadbury knitwear with a bobble hat, scarf and jumper – all of which have hidden pockets for stashing away those delicious festive treats. The full Cadbury Cadvent knitwear collection is also sold via www.cadvent.co.uk while stocks last.

Steve Rich, Christmas marketing manager at Mondelez said: “With everyone getting ready to celebrate Christmas Jumper Day, we’re excited to unveil a unique chocolate jumper as well as a wearable woolly version.

“Joining our new Cadbury Cadvent Knitwear Collection, the jumper is a special treat for all chocolate fans out there.

“Equipped with surprise pockets, the jumper is perfect for storing your favourite festive treats and we hope it will bring everyone joy on Christmas Jumper Day. ”

The launch of the knitwear comes after Cadbury revealed its wider 2016 Cadvent campaign. The Cadvent campaign this year showcases a series of children’s wishes for their loved ones as they come to life each day throughout the month of December.

From streets filled with magical Christmas lights to the best ever Christmas cake, Cadbury is spreading the festive joy across the nation this Christmas targeting as many chocolate fans as possible.

Films of each of the Cadvent wishes are being released daily, on www.cadvent.co.uk.
