THE TOP tribute band to The Style Council will be coming to Bromsgrove on Saturday (February 25) to beam the audience back to arguably one of Paul Weller’s best periods as a songwriter.
The Style Councillors will take to the stage at Artrix at 8pm with their swirling Hammond organ and a classic horn section.
They were formed in Brentwood, Essex, in late 2013 by long time Weller fans Darren and Steve after a random social media post asked ‘why are there no Style Council tribute acts around?’
The band quickly recruited Rob and Craig on bass guitar and drums respectively they set about putting the show together before bringing in Helen on vocals and Keith on keyboards.
Once the set was finalised the band line-up was completed by the addition of ex Bad Manners brass section Trevor, Tony and Dave.
In a relatively short space of time a sizable and loyal following formed with the band playing to full houses up and down the country – notably including London’s 100 club and The Jazz Café.
Tickets for tomorrow’s gig are £15 and are available at www.artrix.co.uk or by calling 01527 577330.
