BROMSGROVE’S Nigel Godwin has sponsored Catshill FC’s brand new kit, using Guide Dogs UK’s logo on the front.
Nigel contacted Guide Dogs UK and asked if he could use the charity’s logo in his sponsor space on the front of the team’s shirt.
He has not asked for any money from the charity, instead paying for the whole kit himself.
Nigel has had Lebers Disease, which causes sudden sight loss, for the past ten years.
There is currently no cure for the hereditary disease and Nigel now has a guide dog called Snoopy to help him get around.
Nigel’s nephew Finlay plays for the club, which runs over 20 boys and girls football teams across Bromsgrove.
A club spokesperson said: “We’re really grateful to Nigel for his contribution.
“Nigel has not let the loss of his eyesight hinder his mobility, and him and Snoopy are well known around town.
“This is such a kind act and one that we, as a club, feel should be recognised.”
