THE DEPUTY leader of Bromsgrove District Council Coun Adam Kent has stepped down from the role but will remain as the representative for Hollywood.

Coun Adam Kent, who was recently made Worcestershire County Council’s cabinet member for corporate services and communication, made the announcement last week.

He said: “With a fast growing software export business and an important and productive cabinet post at Worcestershire County Council I have had to prioritise time for maximum effect.

“I spent just under a month in America before Christmas and I have so much on at the moment and something had to give.”

Coun Kent said the highlight he experienced whilst in the role was bringing the ‘Bromsgrove On Demand’ (BOD) bus service which was a first for Worcestershire and is set to be rolled out to other areas of the county.

Coun Geoff Denaro, who represents Wythall West and is the Portfolio Holder for Finance and Governance, has been named as the new deputy leader.
