RESIDENTS can get in the festive spirit and raise funds for charity at the same time at a Christmas Carol Singing evening at the Dodford Inn.

The event starts at 7.30pm tomorrow (Tuesday, December 7) and will feature music from Will Mason and Stephen Ashford, accompanied by Kim Mayes.

Food will be served beforehand from 5.30pm on a first come, first served basis.

Other activities will include ‘bidding for five gold rings’, guess the name of the dog, a raffle and ‘stand up bingo’.

Cash raised will go to Dodford Children’s Farm, which was established in 1950 by a school doctor and Lucy Cadbury to provide countryside respite for young children from post-war Birmingham.

The charity still offers countryside retreats to children from underprivileged backgrounds, special schools and other schools from all over the Midlands along with family holidays on a referral basis.
