A SUSPECTED car thief managed to escape police after a pursuit in Bromsgrove on Friday afternoon.
Officers from Worcestershire Operational Policing Unit chased down the car in Aston Fields.
The driver made off on foot and, despite the OPU officers’ best efforts and a search by the West Mercia Police Dogs Unit, managed to flee the scene.
Enquiries are continuing to track down the culprit.
The officers added: “Apologies for disturbing the residents of Aston Fields – in the officers’ haste to detain the suspect officers left the siren on.”
