Groups' campaign for 22,000 chocolate eggs so every child in Bromsgrove district has one this Easter

AN APPEAL has been launched to ensure every child in Bromsgrove has a chocolate egg this Easter.

NewStarts and Redditch and Bromsgrove Community Safety Partnership are leading the drive and Churches Together in Bromsgrove are also involved.

The target is to get around 22,000 eggs – one for each child – 2,000 have been collected so far and more have been pledged.

Marion Kenyon from NewStarts said: “Children across the district have been through a huge amount over the past year and, regardless of their social background, we want them all to have an Easter egg to cheer them up and ensure we can all celebrate together.”

Easter eggs can be dropped off at Morrisons in the foodbank trolleys, NewStarts and The Basement Project – people should call 01527 832993 before donating to ensure someone is there.

Anyone interested in volunteering as part of the scheme should email Sarah McIntosh from the Community Safety Partnership at [email protected] or call 01527 64252, extension 3527.
