CHANDLER Court was one of the first care homes in the area to roll out the Covid-19 vaccinations to residents.
Almost all residents and staff at the Recreation Road care home have received their first dose of the vaccination.
One of the first to get the jab was 87-year-old Roger Barraclough who said he was ‘relieved’.
Chandler Court manager Dawn Covill said: “We are so pleased that residents in our home have had the vaccination.
“I would like to offer my thanks to the NHS team at Churchfield Surgery as they were incredibly efficient, friendly, and made sure everything went smoothly.
“This is the first step towards getting back to normal and we couldn’t asked for a better way to kick off the year.
“We’re looking forward to receiving our second dose of the vaccine as soon as possible.”
Ms Covill added she is aware that the vaccine doesn’t provide full protection against the virus.
Knowing this, staff will continue to with regular testing, deep cleaning, use of PPE and temperature checks to keep everyone safe.
