A CARE home in Bromsgrove will once again open its doors on Christmas Day for elderly people who face being alone.

Heathbrook House Bupa Care Home has promised to cook a traditional festive roast dinner and hold festive games for the town’s older residents.

To deliver the service, the Worcester Road care home partnered with charity Re-engage which looks to alleviate loneliness and social isolation for those aged over 75.

General manager at Bupa Care Simon Brown, said: “We know loneliness is a growing issue for elderly people at Christmas and also all year round.

“It’s our third year hosting this community Christmas event and we’re pleased older members of our community will have somewhere to go.

“They can enjoy a traditional Christmas dinner with all the trimmings and some festive fun in the company of others.”
