REMEMBER a lost loved one at a unique memorial service next weekend, writes John Tait.

The annual Tree of Light event will take place at Mortons’ Funeral Directors in Northfield at 3pm on Sunday, December 1.

People can write personalised messages of love on a memorial star which will be hung on the firm’s giant Christmas tree.

The 45-minute service will include seasonal songs from the Droitwich Salvation Army and a performance by a guitar and singing duo.

Everyone is welcome to the event where there will be time for reflection and refreshments afterwards.

Sarah Case, Mortons’ Managing Director, said: “Throughout the 120-plus years Mortons has been in business, we have always prided ourselves on being close to the community we serve, and never is that more apparent than at our Tree of Light service where there is always such an atmosphere of love, care and togetherness.

“Christmas is a magical time of year – a time when people who have lost someone they loved and cherished want to give thanks for their life and reflect on some precious memories.”

Seats for the Tree of Light service are allocated on a first come, first served basis, so people are encouraged to arrive early to avoid disappointment.

Anyone unable to attend but wanting a Memorial Star on the tree should email Sarah at [email protected] or call 0121 476 9111.
