TWO PEOPLE have been jailed following a crash in Romsley in which a cyclist died.
The incident happened around 7.40am on June 15, 2017, when David ‘Ross’ Fawthrop from Barnt Green was cycling on Bromsgrove Road.
There was a collision between a silver Vauxhall Corsa, a silver Fort Transit van and Mr Fawthrop.
The 59-year-old rider died at the scene.
Balvinder Sangha, 46, from Romsley, was driving the Transit van and Emily Wilkinson, 21, from Hagley, was driving the Corsa.
They were both later charged for causing death by careless driving and the pair appeared at Worcester Crown Court yesterday.
Following an eight day trial both defendants were found guilty yesterday.
Sangha was sentenced to 12 months in prison and was banned from driving for three years, while Wilkinson was sentenced to six months behind bars with a two-year driving ban.
