A TEENAGER was ‘given advice’ after found to be carrying a pellet gun in Bromsgrove yesterday.
Police were called to a domestic disturbance in Charford when the 17-year-old confessed he had the weapon in a rucksack and was carrying it ‘for protection’.
Although the type of gun the teenager had was usually used for target practice and unlikely to cause serious or life-threatening injury and it was in a private garden, he was warned that if it was on him in another situation in a public place the consequences could end up much worse.
If a situation arose that armed police were called to, there was a danger of him being shot by officers, said the police.
Following the incident the teen was arrested before being ‘de-arrested’ and sent on his way.
