CLIMBING has been added to the range of disability activities offered by Bromsgrove District Council, writes Demi Andrews.

The sessions take place at the climbing wall at the Bromsgrove Sport and Leisure Centre from 4pm to 5.30pm every Sunday after funding was secured through Worcestershire County Council’s Short Breaks scheme.

Guided by qualified instructors participants undertake roped climbs with safety harnesses and have a go at the different types of climbs available.

Coun. Peter Whittaker, Bromsgrove District Council’s portfolio holder for leisure services, said: “We’re delighted to be able to keep on developing and expanding the range of local opportunities for active leisure.”

The block of sessions is £25 for the whole five weeks.
