BROMSGROVE and Redditch Rock Choir managed to get their audience bouncing up and down at this year’s BBC-organised event, ‘Proms in the Park’.

All 80 members of the choir can feel proud after putting on a spectacular end-of-summer performance, in front of a massive 40,000 people in London’s Hyde Park.

They were led by Choir Leader Christa Hugo and Rock Choir founder Caroline Redman Lusher.

Christa said: “It was an incredible day for us.

“I’m so happy because we gave everything and everyone sang their absolute hearts out.”

The Bromsgrove and Redditch residents, who attend weekly rehearsals together, were invited by the BBC to open up the event.

It was a special surprise for the crowd and those watching at home because the choir group wasn’t listed as one of the main acts playing on the day.

They successfully flash-mobbed the audience with their first number, ‘Dancing in the Street’.

The crowd went wild as the choir group revealed their ‘Rock Choir’ t-shirts and began dancing enthusiastically on stage.

Rock Choir member, Judith Tranter, said: “I think we really smashed the flash-mob, it was amazing.

“It was so fantastic to be involved in such an iconic experience.”

Christa added: “We are also always welcoming new members to attend a free taster session.”
