Ensemble DeNOTE to bring its period instruments to Artrix this Friday

Bromsgrove Editorial 13th Nov, 2017   0

ACCLAIMED classical chamber music group Ensemble DeNOTE will be bringing its period instruments to Artrix at 8pm on Friday, November 17.

The event is the latest in the programme organised by Bromsgrove Concerts.

Ensemble DeNOTE return to the roots of 18th Century performance style, exploring the sound-world of period instruments and producing passionate live music.

Their programme opens with the delightful Mozart trio for fortepiano, clarinet and viola, said to have been composed in Mozart’s head while playing the bowling alley game of skittles. It showcases the group’s line-up of instruments including a reproduction fortepiano and a clarinet similar to one Mozart would have been familiar with.

Other pieces include Haydn’s piano sonata and an arrangement of Mozart’s extraordinary piece the Gran’ Partita originally written for 13 wind instruments.

The concert begins the autumn launch tour for Ensemble DeNOTE’s brand new recording of Mozart’s Chamber Music and there will be the chance to talk with some of the players after the concert and even obtain a signed CD.

Tickets, at £20 single (£5 concessions – registered disabled, unemployed or full time student over 25), are available on the door, online at www.artrix.co.uk or by calling 01527 577330

Subscription and Rover tickets also available.

Carers and young people under 25 are free to all concerts (under 16s must be accompanied).
