LUKE SHORTHOUSE becomes the first Bromsgrove Sporting player to depart this summer after the striker agreed terms to join Atherstone Town.

The former Nuneaton Griff sharpshooter joins Ivor Green at Sheepy Road aiming to get more first-team football under his belt.

Formerly a professional at Nuneaton Town, Shorthouse made 24 appearances for last season’s ‘Invincible’ Midland League Division One champions – ten of those coming from the bench.

He scored six goals in all competitions during his spell at the Victoria Ground.

Sporting boss Paul Smith said: “Luke wants more first-team football than last season and with the new signings I had made he thought it better he made a move.

“He goes with our best wishes and we thank him for his part in a remarkable season last year.”
