A TENACIOUS Bromsgrove schoolgirl has raised £680.50 for Sport Relief after cycling 36.8miles to Worcester and back.
Ella Loftus, who is eight and attends Finstall First School, embarked on the mammoth ride with her dad Sean on March 13.
Mum Rachel told The Standard: “Ella came home from school where they had been talking about Sport Relief and said she wanted to do something for it.
“She is a good swimmer but chose cycling so she could do it with her dad.
“We were not sure she would finish it but she surprised us all and we are so proud of her.”
Sean has been featured previously in the Standard for undertaking bike rides from London to Paris and from Paris to Geneva.
“Maybe Ella will even follow in her dad’s footsteps,” added Rachel.
Ella had originally only set a target of £100 but Rachel said they now hoped the fund-raising total would make it through the £700 mark.
