BARNT Green u13s have reached the finals of the national under-13s championship after winning the Midlands round.
Playing the regionalĀ finals day at Lullington, the Green youngsters defeated Nottinghamshire’s Radcliffe on Trent before sweeping aside Brockhampton, from Herefordshire, in the final.
On a low, seaming pitch, Barnt Green were dismissed for 48 against Radcliffe, with the innings built around George Homer’s 20. But the bowlers responded to leave Radcliffe 46-7, with Stewart Greenhalgh taking 3-3 and Pearce ChildsĀ 2-9.
In the final, Hayden Froggatt retired for 30 as Barnt Green reached 96-9 in their 20 overs before Balil Khan ripped through the Brockhampton batting to take six wickets for five runs as they finished on 56-9.
Green now play in the finals day involving the six regional winners at Oundle School over three days.
