A NEW comedy by Bromsgrove playwright Roger Goddard is coming to Droitwich’s Norbury Theatre.
The Devil Wears Trainers runs from May 6 to 9 with performances at 7.30pm each evening and a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.
The play centres on Alf who is down on his luck – his wife has left him, he has been made redundant and he is forced to live with his son and daughter-in-law.
He is also a bit of a layabout and – to her annoyance – seems reluctant to find a job and somewhere else to live.
Instead, however, he has joined a local conservation group called ‘The Friends of Dogwood Common’ but is he really community spirited or does he have an ulterior motive?
Only time will tell.
The play marks Roger’s 50 years in am dram which has seen him involved in all aspects of theatre – from acting and backstage to writing.
The Devil Wears Trainers is his third play for the Norbury Players following Addicts Anonymous and Men In Green.
