BROMSGROVE ROVERS AFC secured their first points of the season and a welcome clean sheet with a 2-0 victory against Village B, writes Neil Gordon.
Goals from Jack Dawkins and Ash Pardoe either side of the interval earned Rovers victory at Eldorado Close, just seven days after the side had lost 4-2 against the same opposition in the reverse fixture.
This result means the Greens remain bottom of the Birmingham and District Football League Division One table on goal difference, but with games in hand.
Rovers AFC manager Spencer Machin said: “The football wasn’t pretty, but we worked hard as a team, managed the game well and took our chances.
“Hopefully, we can push on now.”
And the Greens now turn their attention to the Intermediate Cup, hosting lower-ranked Phoenix Town this weekend.
Rovers will be looking to avenge last season’s 2-0 cup upset against Town in the same competition.
Bromsgrove entertain Phoenix Town at Eldorado Close on Saturday, October 18. Kick-off is 2.30pm and admission free.
