FORMER class mates from Rubery Council School – now Colmers – met up for their latest reunion.
The idea for the regular get-togethers came 12 years ago and the participants are now in their late 80s or early 90s.
The then pupils at some interesting school years, which included spending many afternoons in the shelters, during the war.
They still managed to achieve some influential and interesting roles in both international and UK activities.
Among them was a nuclear scientist lost to the United States in the early 50s, a radar technician and tank commander during national service, an Olympic judge in the field of gymnastics, teachers and headteachers, plus company directors in the field of engineering.
Organiser Paul Trantor said: “We say to all children at Colmers – we have shown you the way, it is now up to you.”
